The Township Board has voted to revise it's decision to raise the ZBA fees for the residents. The previous change to $850 made it very difficult for residents to afford to come before the Zoning Board for a variance. The reason for the change originally was to cover the cost of having the meeting.
The Zoning Board of Appeals will have two pre-planned meetings per year in which residents could come before them for the old price of $325. There will be 3 slots for each meeting and they will be filled on a first come-first served basis. These meetings will be the 4th Monday in February and 3rd Monday in August. If a resident signs up and decides that they no longer need to come before the ZBA, their fee will be refunded to them. If the timing of the two meetings does not meet a residents needs, they can always schedule a slot in one of the regularly scheduled meetings (the 3rd Monday of each month). The fee for these meetings will be the new price of $850.
