On March 22nd there was a joint meeting of the Planning Commission and the Township Board, the Planning Consultant did a presentation titled “Downtown Whitmore Lake – Strategies for Success."
This presentation was a culmination of a series of downtown summit meetings that were held over the course of the previous 12 months. Citizen and business leader input was high during the series. There were breakout workshop sessions where citizens, business leaders and township officials explored problems specific to the downtown. Issues and problems were identified and stragagies for solutions were identified and prioritized that lead to an outline of a plan for addressing the major problems.
