Work continues to move forward with Detroit Edison’s power quality efforts for residents of Green Oak and
Detroit Edison staff has been in the field trying to contact all homeowners with an existing utility easement. Due to the wholesale replacement of poles, guying, conductors and related equipment – we need to have an updated signed, notarized easement release. Karen Green is managing that effort, and can provide notary services (734-397-4032). Updating the easement documents from residents, the MDEQE and the Livingston & Washtenaw County Road Commissions are of utmost importance in commencing with the system improvements.
As suggested in the public meeting, extensive line clearance (tree/brush clearing) has been performed. Private woodlot owners now have easier access to fell their dead trees which have been dropping into DTE easements and surging our equipment. That is an important, cooperative step which needs to be taken to protect their neighbors, especially in future storms.
