The Northfield Township Police
Department is located at 8350 Main St in Northfield Township (also
known as Whitmore Lake). The hamlet area of Northfield Township is
situated north of Ann Arbor and south of Brighton off US-23. The
Police Department building is located together with the Northfield
Township Fire Station #1
The Police Department is staffed with
the Chief of Police, 1 Lieutenant, 2 Sergeants, 7
Full-Time Officers, 1 Detective/Investigator, 2 Part-Time
Officers, 3 Reserve Officers and 2 Civilian
Clerk/Dispatchers.
Officers respond to request for
service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
There are 19 individuals who are
all key elements to the mission of the township and to the
department. The civilian personnel provide such important duties as
records processing, primary citizen contact, and administrative
assistance. The remaining 14 individuals are sworn officers (both
Full-Time and Part-Time) you see vigilantly patrolling the
neighborhoods and streets of Northfield. Some of these individuals
dependent on rank and status also work behind the scenes providing
investigative services, ordinance enforcement, and administrative
duties at the police department.
The Northfield Township Police
Department is a multi-function agency that strives to meet the needs
of the citizens of Northfield. The department is indeed "service
oriented" to the people it serves. Employees are prepared to assist
individuals from being locked out of their houses or cars to
crisis situations that may unfortunately happen. Through the
understanding of community interaction and accountability the police
department hopes to enhance its service to the citizens of
Northfield.
