Reports can be picked up directly at the police department at 8350 Main St - Whitmore Lake.
The responsibility of the Records Section is data entry, generating statistical reports, processing paperwork for gun permits, concealed weapons and providing copies of paperwork to the general public. The records section is staffed with two civilian clerks.| Service | Fee | Description |

Copies of accident reports can be obtained by anyone. You can purchase online with a credit card through CLEMIS e-Crash. |

| Handgun Purchase Permits | No Charge | Apply between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Northfield residents only with valid identification. Permits are valid for 10 days. Guns are brought back for inspection/ registration, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. |
| Clearance Letter | No Charge | Northfield residents only, with identification. Must obtain in person, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. This is a local clearance only. |
The Records Bureau also processes all freedom of information requests, and subpoenas for records. These documents are accepted at the Records Bureau counter Monday - Friday, from 8:00- 4:00. All requests will be processed in a timely manner.
