On-going Programs

Mondays

Open Drawing/Painting, 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

If you enjoy sketching or painting join this group of artists.  You will need to bring your own supplies and enjoy sketching a live model.  There are no instructions given.  There is a small fee to pay the model.  The group is always looking for models.  They will pay the model.  Call the center if you would like to model.

Tuesdays

Bridge, 9:30 a.m. - noon, no charge

Low Impact Aerobics, 1 2 p.m., $3 drop-in fee.

This is a drop in class! Whatever your fitness level, you will enjoy this group. Warm up done on chairs and you go into an aerobic routine, then stretching and toning with weights and stretch bands.  The center has the weights and bands.  Give it a try! Instructor: Elizabeth Polk

Pinochle, 2:15-4 p.m., no charge.  On the first Tuesdays learn to play!

Wednesdays

Northfield Needles, 12:30 - 4 p.m. 1st Wednesday.

This is a group, which sews quilts for both children and older adults. The quilts are donated to Northfield’s Adopt-a-Family and to the Northfield Township Fire and Police Departments. You are welcome to just drop in or you can call for details if you are interested in helping in this worthwhile project. We are also soliciting donations to be used for the purchase of batting for the quilts.

Wii Games, 1 - 3 p.m. (not on first Wednesday)

Wii Bowling, golf, baseball, tennis.  Get a team together and have some fun.

Thursdays

Kiwanis Club, 9-10 a.m. 2nd and 4th Thursdays

This is a civic organization comprised of people who give of themselves back to the community.  If you are interested in joining stop by and see what it\'s all about.

Low Impact Aerobics (see Tuesdays)

Book Talk, 4th Thursday, 11:30 a.m.

Anyone who enjoys a good book will love this group and is welcome to participate. Bonnie Bentley from the Northfield Township Library is our facilitator, and she brings a new stack of books each month. On alternate months, Bonnie brings a selection for everyone to read and to discuss the following month.

Chair Massage, 12:30 - 3 p.m. 2nd Thursday   -   By Appointment only!

$5/15 minute chair massage.  If you don\'t have time for a total body massage you might want to try this.  It is beneficial for your health, reduces stress, relieves tension and more.  Provided by Sandra Burrow, certified massage therapist.  You are seated in a special chair and fully clothed.

Fridays

Recycled Cards, 11 a.m. - noon

This group makes new greeting cards out of used ones, then we sell them for 50 cents.  It\'s easy and fun to do.  We need more people to help with this project.  If you have any used greeting cards bring them in and see what we can do with them.  Please do not tear them.  We cut any writing off and use most of the card.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays seniors are invited to enjoy a noon meal at the United Methodist Church on Main and East Shore Drive. Home delivered meals are also available from this location. Call Director Gayanne Courte at 734-449-8480 for reservations and details.

If you need a ride to the doctor, to a hair appointment, shopping or for another reason, call Peoples Express 734-216-6073 for details.  You can be picked up at your door and delivered to your appointment, and then returned when you are finished.
