          2022 Board Of Review Schedule

The Northfield Township Board of Review will meet in the Northfield Township Municipal Offices located at 8350 Main Street Whitmore Lake, Michigan 48189 ** OR by electronic means if required by M.D.H.H.S. order. If electronic meeting is required public notice will be posted not less than 18 hours prior to the meeting at the Township Hall and on the Township website. **

The Board of Review will meet for 2022 as follows:

March:          Tuesday, March 8th 2022 Organizational meeting - No Appointments                                  

                    Appointments on:
                    Tuesday, March 15, 2022       9:00 am to 5:00 pm
                         Thursday, March 17, 2022      1:00 pm to 9:00 pm

The purpose of March Board of Review is to review the assessment rolls of Northfield Township.  Matters pertaining to the assessment of property may be brought before the Board of Review.   Appeals will also be accepted by letter.

July*:           Tuesday, July 19, 2022

December*:  Tuesday, December 13, 2022


*Please note the July and December Board of Review is limited to what it may act on.
Appeals allowed include:

  • Qualified errors specifically defined by MCL 211.53b
  • Homeowners Principal Residence and Qualified Agricultural exemption changes
  • Poverty appeals (please see guidelines for qualifications)
  • Disabled Veterans Exemption defined by MCL 211.7b (see affidavit for qualifications)
  • Incorrectly incorrectly uncapped parcels


Important Note: Appeals of property classifications or opinion of value can only be made through the March Board of Review meetings.

For Poverty appeals and Disabled Veteran exemption claims, please return the signed application and all necessary information (documents) to the Northfield Township Assessing Department no less than 10 days
prior to the March, July or December Board of Review (see above schedule).
